Pull out weeds; wear the rubber gloves for avoiding any cuts and injuries from pulling weeds. Hold the weeds on their base, and cautiously pull out to get their roots. For the tougher weeds, use gripping tools like pliers for pulling at least the part of the tough weeds which catch attention.
If it is hard to remove the roots of the weeds, vigilantly chip out the surrounding of the root, when it is already around half to one inch wide, and 1/3 inch deep, make use of a filler for smoothening the surface. In addition, use a chipper to smoothen pointed surfaces. Loose stones must be picked up. Use a broom for removing the pebbles.
Get rid of spots and soil. For tough stains such as oil or gas stains, usage of cleaner is advised. Water in high pressure could be used for washing away the cleaner residue or detergent. Ensure that the driveway is completely dry before moving to the next level.
Use fillers for cracks. For small cracks, use asphalt emulsion fillers and smooth the surface. For cracks that are at least 1 inch wide, use cold patches. Stones or pebbles could be used for filling the opening first. Cement could be an option, but this might take quite a while to fully dry. Cover the patch with plywood and drive it over. You could leave the plywood there until the patch is totally dry.
